Biovitrum acquires Kepivance©, Stemgen© and an exclusive license to Kineret©

Biovitrum is a pharmaceutical company focusing on specialist products with high unmet medical need. In an agreement with Amgen, Biovitrum has acquired Kepivance® (palifermin) and Stemgen® (ancestim), and has obtained an exclusive worldwide license to Kineret® (anakinra). The transition was effective December 15, 2008.

From Biovitrum we are proud to announce the new ownership of these important products. We will do our outmost to provide a professional service to the medical community and patients for these brands.

This also means that Biovitrum takes over the ownership of this product website and will manage the site from now on.

Research and development
With a strong heritage in biopharmaceuticals, we are developing, marketing and selling through our own organization. We have in-house research operations including cutting-edge expertise in the fields of hematology, autoimmune disease/inflammation and malabsorption. In addition to developing our own projects, strategic acquisitions, partnerships and alliances is part of our growth strategy. Our project portfolio includes several projects in clinical phases.

Sales and marketing
Biovitrum has a heritage in promoting prescription specialist products in the Nordic region in partnership with Wyeth, Amgen and other Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies.

With revenues of approximately SEK 1.3 billion and around 500 employees, Biovitrum is a significant international specialty pharmaceutical player.
